The African/African American Liberation Ministry of Ebenezer AME Church in Fort Washington, MD, Aviva Vacations, and Champion Travel Services have several trips planned to destinations at home and abroad for the coming year. The planned, group tours are open to the public.
The Liberation Ministry is touring Ghana and Togo, October 12-October 16, 2020. The 13 night, 14 day trip includes an overnight flight to Accra, the capital of Ghana, where they will initially stay at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
“Accra is home of the W.E.B DuBois Centre and we will also tour the Cape Coast and its infamous forts, castles and slave dungeons,” says Bernadette Champion, whose company, Champion Services Travel, is making the travel arrangements for the Ebenezer AME Church ministry. Their tour will also include Kakum National Park, home to over 40 large mammals and 400 bird species as well as many species of butterflies, flora and fauna.
In a comfortable bus, the group will follow the African side of the Atlantic coast to Togo. In this French-influenced African-nation, they will visit the artistic International Museum of the Gulf of Guinea, the colorful Akodessewa Fetish Market, and the slave house in Agbodrafo. After two nights in Togo, they will return to Ghana and savor one more night in the English-influenced Black Star Republic before heading home.
