- Diamonds Are Our Only Hope
The City of Diamonds, as Kimberley is known worldwide, has attracted people from near and far – – all pursuing the shining stone. Following the discovery of diamonds on a farm near Colesberg, not too far from Kimberley in 1871, approximately fifty thousand men dug what later came to be known as The Big Hole, between 1871 and 1914. (This is the first in a series of articles about Kimberley informal diamond miners.)

- Young Photographer Turned Preservationist Scores for the Hometown
Tyrell Anderson started the Decay Devils as a photography group that conducted urban explorations to other cities to take pictures. It was during a trip to New Orleans and Savannah that he began to change the scope of the group from “taking pictures, to taking action. It was his witnessing the preservation of buildings that aroused his desire to return home to Gary to preserve her pass.

- Sabata-mpho Mokae, Pridefully Keeping His Language Alive
Sol Plaatje was the first Black South African to write an English novel and the first African to translate Shakespeare into an African language, Setswana. He also exchanged letters with WEB Du Bois. As Sabata–mpho Mokae burnishes his reputation as the “go–to” person on Sol Plaatje, he releases his new novel in their language, Setswana
