Tutankhamun: His Tomb and Treasures Opens in Washington, D.C..
King Tut's tomb gets special attention mainly because it was intact when modern man found it. Among the 1,000 perfectly reconstructed objects and artifacts, the most clarifying portion was a graphic layout of the tomb followed by life–size creations of each room and its contents. As I walked through the padded, carpeted Center, echoes of Yosef A.A. ben–Jochannan spoke to me. Enter the drawing to win one of three sets to tickets to experience this exhibit.

The Shujaa Stories – National Museum of Kenya Nairobi
The Shujaa Stories team includes Tatu Creatives and historians teaching Kenyan history, which the National Museum of Kenya Nairobi showcases. The story of Sultan Yusuf, an Arab Kenyan, is a testament to his unwavering resilience. Despite the Portuguese's relentless efforts to assimilate him, they made him the Sultan of Mombasa, falling far behind their intentions.

We are excited about our soon-to-be-released podcasts with the biographer of the late News Dimensions publisher Barry Murray, Anita Hackly Lambert, and Melinda Hartwig, curator of Tutankhamun: His Tomb and His Treasures. Africa on the Avenue Festival is May 18 in DC.
