Starting July 1, there will be a new Neighborhood LIFT Down Payment Assistance Grant Program that offers customers $15,000 in down payment assistance if you are purchasing a home in Baltimore City, Maryland. 

Additional details on this grant program are as follows:

• You may be eligible to receive an additional $2,500 for specialized occupations such as a police/law enforcement, teacher, paraprofessional educator, firefighter, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or eligible military member.
• Property must be the borrower's primary residence.
• Household income restrictions apply.
• Homebuyer education is required.
• A 20% portion of the grant is forgiven each year, for 5 years. If the owner/recipient of the funds remains in the home for five years, then the grant will be fully forgiven.
