What else of value could I learn about Rosa Parks by viewing the new exhibit about her, I thought? Instead of depending upon a movie to better understand Parks, I, as CR Gibbs would advise me, encourage you to do your own research. At years end, there are many diverse activities for a diverse people. In Metro Gary/Chicago, celebrate Winter Solstice with a hike and campfire in the Indiana Dunes. For Christmas, in Ogun State, Nigeria, join the annual Gospel Musicals in Concert. The Apollo Theater in Harlem hosts Kwanzaa Celebration: Regeneration Night and, in DC, Westminster Presbyterian Church features blues and dinner on New Year's Eve.
