Target Fast Until Good Friday with 40-Day Prayer Journal

Mar 06 – Mar 19, 2025

no target shopping

We started this journey as a faith community to confront injustice—not just with our prayers, but with our pocketbooks. Three weeks later, 100,000 of us are standing together, locked in step, proving that collective action has power.

Attached you will find the 40-Day Prayer Journal—a guide to keep us spiritually and strategically aligned during this season. I am personally asking you to share this with your family and friends. It’s not too late to join the movement.

Already, Target stock has dropped. This is our first effort, but it will not be our last.

We will end the Target Fast on Good Friday (Friday, April 18) and I want you in the room at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, 6400 Woodrow Rd, Stonecrest, GA 30038, as I lay out the next steps for where we go from here.

Then, mark your calendar and save the date for the Standing on Business Summit, Friday, June 27- Saturday, June 28—a gathering of thought leaders, business owners, and change-makers coming together to build economic power and strengthen our communities. This summit will equip us with real strategies to sustain the movement beyond a boycott.

POH Noe: Who is Jamal Bryant?

Bryant leads the movement with controversy. Bryant and his ex-wife, Gizelle Bryant, who later became a star in “Real Housewives of the Potomac,” divorced in 2009 after he had an extramarital affair. In 2015, he announced a run for Congress only to end his campaign eight days later.

He replaced Bishop Eddie Long, who settled suits in 2012 from young men who accused him of using money and gifts to coerce them into sexual relationships. In 2023, Bryant made headlines for issuing a public apology to the LGBTQ+ community after reassessing his position and recognizing the importance of inclusivity and acceptance.
