Thanks to Genell Anderson of AMAR Group LLC for her $200 donation to Port of Harlem magazine, our total collected is $455! With that, we can pay for the email marketing tool we use. All mass email mailers have had to adhere to standards that email marketing tools make easy to comply with for about twenty years. Now, those tools have been upgraded and have become essential.
We have also taken measures to reduce costs. We renegotiated our Internet fees, making them 19 percent lower for at least the coming year. We also saved $500 per year by eliminating an email sorter. We were migrating our email from a costly email company’s server to another since they raised the price by 684 percent in one year and then went out of business.
Generally, the magazine continues to perform above average. More than 49 percent of subscribers opened the last issue in their email box, compared to the all industy average of only 36 percent. Among the 48 percent who opened the email, 9 percent clicked on at least one story, compared to the industry average of only 2 percent.
