In The Pharisees, Sadducees, Heritage Foundation, & Project 2025, I challenged the validity of women not having the authority to preach, pastor, or deliver God's word. I explained the Pharisees and Sadducees civil laws versus God's Mosaic law. Since then, I've received numerous requests to further validate my position based on what the scripture says. I wasn't offended because you should be able to support your claim, especially where the scripture is involved. So, here goes.
The priest knew that God would not respond to him, so he sought out a female prophetess named Huldah.
Nowhere in the scriptures does God give His message to the priests. So, if God didn't talk to the priests, who did He talk with or give the message to? It starts with Him instructing His prophet, Moses, to give the following responsibilities to the Levitical priests:
First, their primary directive was to keep the seven candles on the menorah lit in the tabernacle/temple from evening to morning. That’s because the menorah represented God, and the seven candlesticks represented the different aspects of His spirit: 1) Presence of God. 2) Knowledge of God. 3) Understanding of God. 4) Strength of God. 5) Wisdom of God. 6) Fear or reverence of God. 7) Counsel of God. Moses was to warn them that allowing any of the candles to go out would represent the absence of God, and calamity would follow.
Second, Moses was to instruct the priests regarding the handling of the tabernacle, and the Ark of the Covenant. Whenever they moved from one place to another the priests was to break the tabernacle down, carry it, and put it back together. They had to cover the Ark to shield it from outsiders, and carry it on their shoulders by the poles attached to it.
Third, Moses was to instruct the people to take their sacrifices to the priests, so that the priests could burn their offerings to God. The priests were to also stand before the congregation and read the Mosaic Law every year. The High Priest was the only priest allowed to go behind the veil in the tabernacle/temple and pray for the people.
In 2nd King 22, Babylon had destroyed the temple two centuries before eight-year-old King Josiah's reign. After eighteen years in power, Josiah decided to restore the temple. He sent his secretary to the High Priest to prepare the money the people had given to the temple. He instructed the priests to entrust the money to the carpenters, builders, and masons who would repair the temple. When the secretary went to the temple, the High Priest told him about the Book of the Law that he'd found under the rubble in the temple. The secretary immediately told the king what they'd found and read from it to him.
Josiah knew about the Mosaic Law, but being so young when crowned, he knew nothing about the edict. Even so, he discerned that it angered God for the law to be lost. He tore his robe in anguish and told the priest to go inquire of God for him. The priest knew that God would not respond to him, so he sought out a female prophetess named Huldah.
