”The Barber of Little Rock" was nominated for an Oscar. The Oscar nominated film exposes issues of segregation and economic inequality that persist in America.

Port of Harlem magazine featured Washington and his story in the September 2020 article “From Barber to Financial Institution Chief” and in the September 2020 podcast “Ric Murphy and Arlo Washington (second half).” The 2024 Oscars take place Sunday, March 10.
