Poem: Shooting Star

Mar 23 – Apr 05, 2023

precious forman

Only if I could be a shooting star
Hung high, arms open wide, and Earth below
Around darkness fulfilling her devoir
I’d still shine and soar and know where to go

Celestial and bright I want to shoot
Across the unknown after breaking ties
After crossing rusted lines in pursuit
Of the galaxy where my own fate lies

Claustrophobic in microscopic minds
Always advancing within time and space
Because for such a place I was designed
And courageously I can’t be replaced

Only if you could see a shooting star
Even when the sun chases out the dark
