book by Chriistopher Jenkins

C. Christopher Jenkins, who penned Social Security, Financial Planning and You for the May 2003 - October 2003 print issue, just penned two children’s books. The books are a 20 to 30-year old “pipe dream,” that came true when Covenant Books just released his “If I Lived Next Door To Heaven” ($13.95) and “Naomi, the Raven, and Bullies at the Dance ($14.95).”

The lines in the poetic “Heaven” book centers on how we treat each other:

If I lived next door to Heaven
What Kind of neighbor would I be?
Not an easy answer?
Hmm . .  . let me see.

Would I be a friendly hippo?
Or a moody, moody, mouse?
Peeking through shaded windows,
hiding underneath the house.

“So, it asks the question that if you lived next door to heaven how would you handle the diversity,” explained Jenkins.  His second book, he says, is a reflection of his growing up in Southeast Washington, DC.

Jenkins, who now lives in Columbia South Carolina, explains, "Bullying is huge today. Really, if we are honest, it has been that way for quite a while. Coping and living in spite of it and the many difficult things youths face is difficult. He recalled people in his youth saying:  “‘I am going to beat you up,’ or ‘you are less-then,’” The “Bullies” book focuses on how one handles the voice of bullies.

Covenant Books is an international Christian owned and operated publishing house based in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. Covenant Books specializes in all genres of work which appeal to the Christian market.
