Robtel Neajai, who wrote several articles for Port Of Harlem including the book review "Long Walk Humanises Mandela," has released her second book aimed at teaching young Africans about the negative affects corruption has on the homeland’s development. The new book, "Jaadeh!,"  has already been adapted into a song and music video featuring Liberian musician Takun J and vocalist Ella Mankon Pailey, who is Neajai’s younger sister.

"Jaadeh" is a sequel to her first anti-corruption book for children, "Gbagba."  “I was honoured to receive in December 2018 an International Anti-Corruption Excellence Award for both books at a lovely ceremony in Putrajaya, Malaysia,” said Neajai, who is now based in the United Kingdom.

Pailey’s experience fighting corruption while working in Liberia’s highest political office inspired her to write "Gbagba." Loosely translated as ‘trickery’ in the Bassa language, "Gbagba" explores issues of ethics, accountability, and integrity through the narrative lens of 8-year-old Liberian twin protagonists Sundaymah and Sundaygar, who encounter and wrestle with everyday forms of corruption.

In the dual language sequel, "Jaadeh!," the twins learn about the trappings of truthfulness. The illustrator, Chase Walker, is a self-taught visual storyteller and survivor of the civil war in Liberia.
