Almost 50 years after his death, the Paul Robeson House and Museum reopened to the public on October 10 with a grand reopening celebration after eight months of major renovation.

"I thought you were White," a Juffureh Slavery Museum employee, said to me upon our first meeting. His revelations affirmed why the Port of Harlem Gambian Education Partnership (POHGEP) exists. Image: In March 2006, POHGEP's Wayne Young (left) presented the Museum an image of Martin Robinson Delany. Hassoum Ceesay is holding the image. He was then an employee and now heads the National Centre for Arts and Culture, which runs the Museum. POHGEP is now creating a fourth contribution to the museum.

Blues Heaven closes at the Black Ensemble Theater in Chicago. While in Philadelphia, the Philly march to honor the 30th Year of the Million Man March takes place at Broad and Master, Broad and Christian, and 30th and Market and meet at the Love Park in Center City.
