The Children's Africana Book Awards are presented annually to the authors and illustrators of the best children's and young adult books on Africa published or republished in the U.S. Since 1991, it has encouraged the publication and use of accurate, balanced children’s materials about Africa.

This year, the Port of Harlem Gambian Education Partnership is on a mission to raise $7,225, and we’re proud to report that we’ve already secured $5,442.15 – an impressive 75% of our goal! We purchase soap made by a group of young women led by Oumou Jallow and donate it to non–profits.
