In addition to The Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, future generations will have a second location to find all 40 print issues of Port Of Harlem magazine. “The magazine will be cataloged and added to the special collections periodical holdings of the Beulah M. Davis Special Collections and available to researchers,” explained Morgan State University Archivist Dr. Ida Jones. Morgan State is a historically Black college in Baltimore.

The acquisition comes on the heels of the “How to Preserve Your Legacy” verbal workshop co-sponsored by the Alexandria Black History Museum and Port Of Harlem magazine. During the workshop, Jones suggested that participants contact archives about their interest in cataloging and preserving their historical collections for future researchers.
