The 26th annual Children’s Africana Book Awards (CABA) Festival takes place Saturday, April 6 from 11a-2p. The family event is free.

In addition to the awardees receiving their awards in a fast-paced ceremony, participants will be able to meet and greet winning authors and illustrators from Ghana, Uganda, South Africa, Nigeria, Canada, Britain, and the United States. Following the awards ceremony, the festival will include art activities, storytelling, and light refreshments.

CABA are presented annually to the authors and illustrators of the best children's and young adult books on Africa published or republished in the U.S. The awards were created by Africa Access and the Outreach Council of the African Studies Association (ASA) to encourage the publication and use of accurate, balanced children's materials about Africa.
